Several Grizzlies Earn All-American Honors at NJCAA Indoor Nationals

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Butler track and field competed at the NJCAA Indoor Nationals at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center on Friday and Saturday and had several student-athletes earn All-American recognition.

The Butler women placed 14th out of 32 squads and the men finished 21st out of 32 competing squads.

The notable finishes are listed below. Student-athletes or event squads that were All-Americans have stars (**) by their name.

- Women's 4x800m relay (Star Mpama, Keniya Dexter, Trishanie Warner, Khloi Bird) finished 6th out of 13 (9:27.97)**

- Star Mpama placed fifth in the women's 600 run (1:32.72)** (INDOOR SCHOOL RECORD)

- Trishanie Warner placed sixth in the women's 400m (56.24)**

- Star Mpama placed 5th in the women's 800m (2:15.47)** (INDOOR SCHOOL RECORD)

- Jonathan Farinha placed 7th in the men's 200m (21.37)**

- Women's 4x400m relay came in 8th out of 16 squads (3:48.80)**

- Men's 4x400m relay finished 4th out of 19 (3:12.25)**

- Khloi Bird placed sixth in the women's 5000m (17:51.69)

- Khloi Bird placed 10th in women's 3000m finals (10:19.83)

Butler track and field now turns its attention to the outdoor season. The first meet is on March 15-16 at the Bill Schmidt Invite hosted by the University of North Texas in Denton.
