Butler heads to Region VI tourney at JCCC

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Butler volleyball team has wrapped up its regular season with a 20-19 record and will be heading to its Region VI tournament action hosted by Johnson County this weekend.

With their three-set sweep of Labette, the Grizzlies finished the regular season with a record of 6-5 in Jayhwk Conference play and 20-19 overall. This is the sixth straight year the Grizzlies have won 20 or more matches in a season, averaging 26 wins per year during that stretch.

The Grizzlies will face third-seeded Kansas City, Kansas Community College on noon at the Johnson County gym. If Butler wins, the Grizzlies will face either Johnson County or Neosho County in the final round, with the champion getting a bid to the national tournament in Wisconsin later this month.
