Butler knocks off Neosho in conference road match

CHANUTE, Kan. – On the same day it learned it broke into the national rankings for the first time this season, No. 17 Butler dominated a Jayhawk Conference road match by sweeping Neosho County 25-18, 25-18, 25-18.

"It was a very solid performance by the team," head coach Rick Younger said.

Payton White led the attack with nine kills, while Jessi Green hit .421 in the match with eight kills and two blocks. Kailan Kuzmic had six kills, 20 assists, 11 digs and three blocks. Lexi Wartick added seven kills while Jessica Schwartz had 21 digs. Lauren Hug had a perfect night passing.

Butler improves to 7-4 on the season and is 2-1 in Jayhawk Conference play. The Grizzlies will be on the road this weekend in the Southeast Iowa Classic, playing two matches each on Friday and Saturday.
