Butler falls in three straight sets to Colby

The Butler volleyball team fell in three straight sets at home to Colby (21-25, 24-26, 13-25) on Saturday afternoon.

The Grizzlies (6-4 overall, 0-2 Jayhawk West) battled Colby in the first two sets, but lost the final set by 12 points.

"I never felt like we got going," said Butler head coach Rick Younger. "Our problem right now is consistency. We are not executing the basics. We are over playing and that, in turn, is creating sloppy play."

Freshman Rachael Buzanowski led the Grizzlies with eight kills, hitting .471, while sophomore Mary Kangas had 19 assists with two kills. Sophomore libero Jessica Schwartz had 16 assists and one ace.

Butler will try to break a two-game losing streak this Wednesday, as the Grizzlies travel to take on Hutchinson in Jayhawk West play. The match begins at 6:30 p.m. from the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
