Butler sweeps Seminole in straight sets for 10th win

EL DORADO, Kan. – The Butler volleyball team stepped out of conference play on Wednesday evening with a straight set sweep of Seminole State (Okla.). The Grizzlies won by scores of 25-13, 25-20 and 27-25 at the Power Plant.

Sophomore Lexie Wartick led Butler with 13 kills hitting at .294 as well as five solo blocks and a block assist. Freshman Rachael Buzanowski had eight kills and hit .428 for the match, while freshman Rebecca Sewald added six kills and hit .357. The three Grizzlies combined for 27 of Butler's 36 kills in the win. Sophomore libero Jessica Schwartz led the team with 24 digs, while freshman Hanna McCarty had two service aces.  

Butler now has hit double digits in victories and is 10-15 overall, winning two of their last three matches. Butler will be in action again next Wednesday in conference play at Colby, with the match beginning at 6:30 p.m.
