Volleyball beats Cloud County, picks up ninth win in 10 matches

BENTON, Kan. - Butler volleyball continued its winning ways Saturday with a four-set victory over Cloud County at Circle Middle School.

Butler needed a rally in the fourth set to secure the win ast they defeated Cloud 25-17, 17-25, 25-19, 28-26.

The Grizzlies (13-7 overall, 3-6 conference) have now won nine of their last 10 matches and won consecutive conference matches for the first time this season.

In the fourth set, Butler trailed the Thunderbirds 16-8, but quickly closed the gap with five straight points. The Grizzlies made a 12-3 run to take a 20-19 advantage, then outlasted Cloud with a 28-26 win.

Butler will next host Seward County on Wednesday, with the match to be played at Circle High School in Towanda at 6:30 p.m.
