Butler volleyball announces signees for 2017 season

Butler volleyball has announced seven incoming freshman signees for the upcoming 2017 season.

Six in-state players highlight the freshman crop, as the Grizzlies have signed outside hitter Braylon Daniels (El Dorado), middle/opposite hitter Allson Klausmeyer (Clearwater), middle/opposite hitter Grace VanBecelaere (Pittsburg-St. Mary's Colgan), middle/opposite hitter Claudia Hess (Abilene), setter Erin Goodrum (Andover Central) and outside/opposite hitter Hanna Stuewe (Caldwell).

In addition to the in-staters, the Grizzlies have also inked middle/opposite hitter Savannah Espinosa (Mesa Ridge, Colo.).

 

Braylon Daniels, OH, El Dorado - Daniels was a All-AVCTL Division III second-team selection as a senior and made the El Dorado All-Tournament team. She is a three-time varsity letterwinner.

 

 

 

 

 

Allison Klausmeyer, MH/OPP, Clearwater - An All-AVCTL Division IV first-team and All-State honorable mention selection as a senior, Klausmeyer was a four-sport athlete at Clearwater - playing basketball, track and softball along with volleyball. She was a two-time All-League selection, earning honorable mention during her junior year. Klausmeyer is a National Honor Society member and was in the top 10% of her class academically.

 

 

 

 

Grace VanBecelaere, MH/OPP, Pittsburg-St. Mary's Colgan - VanBecelaere earned numerous honors as a senior, including being named to the All-Crawford County second team while serving as the team captain. Voted as Colgan's MVP and Most Inspirational, VanBecelaere helped the Panthers to three straight Sub-State titles (2013-2015) and a third-place finish during the 2015 season. She led Colgan with 304 kills as a senior.

 

 

 

 

Claudia Hess, MH/OPP, Abilene - Hess was a four-team All-NCKL volleyball selection, earning All-State honors twice and named to the All-State Tournament team as a senior. She was a four-year letterwinner at Abilene in both volleyball and basketball. Hess lettered in FCA and Honor Roll all four years and is a National Honors Society member.

 

 

 

 

Erin Goodrum, S, Andover Central - Goodrum was a three-year All-AVCTL II honorable mention selection, helping the Jaguars to two state appearances and a third-place finish in 2016. She also was an All-League first-team member in softball, which qualified for state during her senior year. Goodrum is a National Honor Society member.

 

 

 

 

Hanna Stuewe, OH/OPP, Caldwell - A three-team All-SCBL volleyball and basketball selection, Stuewe earned All-League first-team and All-State honors as a senior in both sports. In volleyball, Stuewe was an All-SCBL second team selection her junior year and an honorable mention member as a sophomore. Stuewe also helped the 4x100-meter relay team to an eighth-place finish at State.

 

 

 

 

Savannah Espinosa, MH/OPP, Mesa Ridge (Colo.) - Espinosa was a three-sport athlete at Mesa Ridge, participating in volleyball, basketball and track. She was an All-5A/4A honorable selection by the Colorado Springs Gazette.
