Butler volleyball has five-game win streak snapped at Seward

LIBERAL, Kan. — Butler volleyball had its five-game winning streak end with a three-set loss at league-leading Seward County on Wednesday night at the Greenhouse.

Despite a balanced attack, the Grizzlies (12-6 overall, 3-3 conference) fell short in a 22-25, 19-25, 14-25 match to the Saints.

"We played very well and the score was not indicative of how well we played," said Butler head coach Rick Younger.

Sophomore middle hitter Aliyah Bernard had seven kills, hit .583 and had one block, while freshman hitter Claudia Hess finished with six kills and hit .400. Freshman hitter Alli Klausmeyer added two kills and three blocks. Sophomore libero Abby Goodrum had 18 digs with one ace and sophomore setter Andie Nibarger had 13 assists.

On the evening, Butler his .189 with 26 kills on 23 assists.

Butler returns home for a Jayhawk Conference match against Pratt on Friday beginning at 6:30 p.m.
