Volleyball's win streak comes to an end with 3-0 road loss at Barton

After winning their last six matches and 18 straight sets, the Butler volleyball team fell in straight sets on the road at Barton Monday night losing 25-16, 25-17, 25-17.

"We just didn't show up tonight," said head coach Lisa Lechtenberg. "Everyone didn't come to play and it is hard to beat a good team when you don't get off the bus. 

Butler was unable to get things to click offensively connecting on only .112% on their attacks. Barton took advantage of Butler's offensive struggles digging up 78 balls on the night while recording nine blocks. Barton connected on .268% of their attacks throughout the night hitting .344 in the first set.

Milayna Hollinger, Jaryn Benning and Morgan Bryand all finished with a team high five kills. Montana Soderberg recorded 13 digs while Sydney Scanlon chalked up 21 set assists. Keera Parks led in blocks with four followed by Jaryn Benning with three on the night.

Butler (16-10, 8-7) will travel to Hutchinson (11-17, 7-6) for their final conference matchup on Wednesday at 6:30pm from the Hutchinson Sports Arena. They return home the following week taking on two non-conference opponents playing host to Neosho on Monday, October 28 at 6:30pm and Cowley on Friday, November 1 at 6:30pm.
