After helping lead the No. 5-ranked Grizzlies to a 4-0-week, sophomore setter Macie Shaver has been named this week's Jayhawk Conference 'Setter of the Week'.
Shaver, the 5-9 sophomore setter from Sandia, TX, has been solid for the Grizzlies this entire season and has now been recognized on a conference level for her high-level play. During last week's matches, Shaver posted 49 assists for an average of over four assists per set. Shaver splits time with another Grizzly setter Rainey Aven in their 6-2 rotation so doesn't play all the way around like a traditional 5-1 rotation, but still finds a way to have a huge impact on the game while on the court. Shaver also served up three aces on the week and had two kills and 15 digs.
Shaver is now the seventh Grizzly to earn KJCCC Player of the Week honors this season.
