Tessa Cosby is in her sixth season as an assistant coach for the Butler Volleyball team. Prior to Butler, Cosby was a club coach for the Butler Jets VBC.

The 2022 season was highky successful for the Grizzlies. Cosby helped the Grizzlies to another KJCCC Conference Championship with an impressive 14-2 record in conference play. The Grizzlies had five wins over oppenents ranked in the NJCAA Top-20 and the Grizzlies also reached the Region VI Championship game for the second consecutive year and for just the second time in team history. Four players received All-KJCCC Volleyball Honors with three being named to the First-Team.

2021 was a historic year for the Butler Volleyball program the Grizzlies made their way to their first ever Div. I KJCCC Championship and Region VI title. The Grizzlies also advanced to their first ever NJCAA Div. I National Tournament where they finished 4th in the nation. Butler had two All-Americans in Kayli Duncan and Jaryn Benning to gol along with their six All-KJCCC Selections.

The 2020 season was moved to spring 2021 due to the challenges worldwide with COVID-19. The Grizzlies played a condesned schedule and finished the year 14-10 and a fifth place KJCCC finish. Butler defeated Colby during the regular season for their first win over the Trojans since 2017 and they took two sets from Seward (first time in over five years) in a heartbreaking five-set loss on the road. Jaryn Benning, Carly Clennan and Sydney Hefty each picked up All-KJCCC honors during the season. 

In 2019, the Grizzlies finished 18-12 on the season and 8-8 in a tough conference finishing fifth overall. The Grizzlies defeated Hutchinson 3-0 on September 23, 2019... the first win over the Blue Dragons since September of 2002. Amalie Rupertova was named First Team All-KJCCC while Morgan Bryand, Milayna Hollinger and Jaryn Benning were recognized with Honorable Mention honors. The team finished with 3.59 GPA for the year, 18th in the entire NJCAA.

In her first season alongside head coach Lisa Lechtenberg, Butler went 15-15 overall and 8-8 in KJCCC play with a fifth place finish. Freshman stand out Amalie Rupertova earned second team All-KJCCC honors while sophomore Alli Klausmeyer picked up Honorable Mention honors. The Grizzlies were recognized as the NJCAA Volleyball Academic Team of the Year leading the nation with a 3.76 GPA.

A graduate of Kansas State University, Cosby has a degree in Sociology/Criminology - Juvenile Counseling. Prior to Kansas State, Cosby attended Cowley College. 

"Butler is home for me," said Cosby. "I grew up going to Butler camps and events. So it is really neat that I now get to be the one holding them for the future players. I love the family that I have gained here and Butler is a great location for developing and finding talent."

Cosby is married to Matt Cosby, (ElDroado, KS). They have three boys; Rocky, Ryder and Rex.
