Butler set to host 25th Annual Ollie Isom Invitational

Every year for the past 24 seasons Butler has hosted a cross country meet named after former Grizzly coach Ollie Isom.  This season is no different, as Butler Coach Jeff Becker has once again put the meet together in honor of Isom.

This year's Ollie Isom Invitational will again be held at Wartick Ranch, just outside of El Dorado.  The ranch has been the site of the meet for the past several seasons. The women's race is set to start at 4:00 p.m., with the men following at 5:00.

The meet will feature 57 male and 39 female athletes from seven different schools and a group of unattached runners. Six of the teams are from Region 6, including Barton, Butler, Colby, Dodge City, Hesston and Garden City Community Colleges. The lone university squad attending the meet is Wichita State.

For Butler, Becker will run six women for the first time this season. The Colby Invite was the only other time that the Grizzlies have ran a complete team on the women's side this season. For the men Butler will again have all 12 athletes on the roster compete.
