Butler moves up six spots in national poll to No. 14

The Butler women's cross country team is up six spots in this week's national poll, which was released on Thursday.

The Hill-n-Dale poll, which also serves as the NJCAA national rankings, has Butler ranked 14th. Central Arizona received eight first-place votes and sits atop the poll for the second straight week. Iowa Central, which had been the nation's top-ranked team earlier this season, remains at No. 2 and received the other two first-place votes.

Hutchinson is the highest ranked Kansas team at No. 9 this week, up two spots from last week. Johnson County is ranked 12th, dropping four spots from a week ago. Butler is ranked ahead of fellow conference members Dodge City (15th) and Allen County (19th).

Butler's women are coming off a meet at Fort Hays State in which they finished 12th overall as a team, but were second among two-year colleges behind Hutchinson. The Grizzlies will finish the regular season with a home meet on Friday at 3 p.m. at Wartick Ranch, which is located approximately five miles south of the El Dorado campus on 60th Street.
