Butler women take third at Southern Stampede Invitational

Running against a field compiled of NAIA and other junior colleges, Butler scored 140 points with three runners placing in the top 30. Cowley won the event with 48 points, while Allen County was runner-up with 93 points.

Freshman Spencer Jacobson paced the Grizzlies with a 19:18.50 time on the 5K course, which placed her 15th overall. Sophomore Roshae Burrell finished 12 seconds behind Jacobson for a 22nd-place finish.

Other point scorers were Jeanna Baker (19:40.28, 29th), Conangela Senior (19:42.79, 33rd) and Jade Searles (19:54.95, 41st).

Also running for the Grizzlies was Sheila Samoei (21:01.86, 86th) and Irine Jepkemboi (22:10.91, 114th).

Butler will next be at the Emporia State Invitational, which will be held at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course on Friday, Sept. 22.
