Braxton Hyde named KJCCC Div. I 'Pitcher of the Week' after perfect game last week

Braxton Hyde, freshman right hander from Liberal, KS, was named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Division I 'Pitcher of the Week' after his perfect game last weeked on the mound. Hyde pitched a perfect game Saturday in the Grizzlies 14-0 (5-inning) run rule victory over Labette to complete the sweep the Cardinals in the series. Hyde retired all 15 batters he faced in the game while striking out eight of them. No hits, no runs, no walks, no hit by pitch for Hyde. The first perfect game thrown in recent history for the Grizzlies and possibly, the first in program history (trying to fact check with old records). No perfect game has been pitched at least in teh last 15 years.

This is the third Grizzly to be awarded this season as either a player or pitcher of the week by the Jayhawk conference.
