Grizzlies pick up mid-week win on the road at Neosho

The Butler Grizzlies picked up their third straight win on Tuesday with a non conference win against Neosho in Chanute, defeating the Panthers, 15-8, in a one game meeting.

Sam Siegel was the star of the day for the Grizzlies, going 3-6 at the plate with four RBIs, and it was Siegel who broke the game open in the ninth inning, hitting a three run home run to extend the Grizzlies' lead to seven. It was also a good day at the plate for Cooper Torres who also drove home four runs along with Cache Stone, who got three hits and batted in two runs. The Grizzlies combined for 15 runs on 16 hits.

Butler used seven pitchers to secure the win, but it was starter Gavin Peterson who secured the victory, his first win of the season. Peterson pitched three innings and gave up three runs on three hits, striking out one. The seven Grizzlies pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts on the day.

The Grizzlies improve to 17-10 on the year with the win, and will look to extend their winning streak to five consecutive games as they host the Cloud County Thunderbirds for a doubleheader on Thursday at McDonald Stadium with the first pitch scheduled for 1:00pm.
