Brice Vignery's team stays ranked in the latest NJCAA rankings after the loss to second ranked Hutchinson on Saturday, as the Grizzlies drop one spot but remain in the top 10 in the polls as they were announced on Monday. The Grizzlies come into week seven of the season ranked 10th in the country.
The 3-2 Grizzlies are the second highest team in the Jayhawk Conference to be ranked in the top 15. Hutchinson, powered by their 27-19 victory over Butler at Gowans Stadium, remain ranked second in the country for another week. Coffeyville is the only other team from the Jayhawk Conference to earn a spot in the polls, as they are back at number 15 after receiving votes last week.
Three other Grizzly opponents appear in the top 10, as Snow, the only other team to beat Butler this year, comes in at sixth after defeating 11th ranked Georgia Military Institute in a route on Saturday. The Badgers are now 4-1 on the year. Two Iowa teams that the Grizzlies will encounter this year also remain ranked, as Iowa Western is ranked third for another week while Iowa Central remains seventh. The Grizzlies will host Iowa Central in two weeks before heading up to Council Bluffs to see the Reivers the week after.
Next up for the Grizzlies is a non-conference date with McDougal Technical Institute on Saturday at BG Products Stadium, in a game that was rescheduled from two weeks ago. Kickoff is set for 11:00am.
