Butler wins first game away from the Power Plant

The Butler men's team traveled to Coffeyville on Nov. 9 to play Labette Community College in the opening night of the Community State Bank Classic. The Grizzlies had five players score in double figures in their 87-75 victory over the Cardinals.

Butler trailed early in the game but the numbers improved as the half moved along. The Grizzlies took an 11 point lead into the half at 41-30. In that frame the Grizzlies held the Cardinals to 27.6 percent shooting while shooting 55.2 percent themselves.

In the second half Sean Osler who had 15 points to lead the team helped the Grizzlies outscore the Cardinals 46-45 in the half. Osler's 15 led the team but four other Grizzlies chipped in double digit point totals. Bakari Triggs had 13, his brother Shomari had 12 and Trent Richardson and Eric Watson each added 10.

The Grizzlies will now carry their 4-0 record into tomorrow night's game against also unbeaten Coffeyville on their home floor.
