Maddie Redman named NJCAA ‘Pitcher of the Week’ for second time this season

For the second time this season, Maddie Redman, sophomore pitcher from Stillwell, KS, has been recognized on the National stage picking up NJCAA Div. I 'Pitcher of the Week' honors after her performance in the circle last week for the No. 2-ranked Grizzlies.

Redman remained perfect in the circle for the No. 3-ranked Grizzlies picking up four wins on the week and three in the Region VI Tournament as Butler won their fifth-straight Region VI title. Redman pitched a total of 19 innings on the week allowing just two runs off 12 total hits. She did not give up a walk and struck out 32 total batters. She had a season high 15 strikeouts on Saturday in the Grizzlies 3-2 win over Garden City. Redman had an ERA of 0.93 throughout Region VI play in her 15-tournament innings pitched.

Redman was also selected as the KJCCC 'Pitcher of the Week', marking it the fourth time she has been recognized on the conference level this season for her stellar work inside the circle.

This marks the second time Redman has received this honor and third time a Butler softball player has been awarded on the national level as Shayna Espy was the recipient of 'Player of the Week' honors in the last week of March.
