After just the first weekend of games and her first collegiate appearances inside the circle, freshman Emma Koeneke, has been named the Jayhawk Conference 'Pitcher of the Week.' A right handed pitcher from Platte City, MO, Koeneke had a great opening weekend appearing in her first two collegiate games in the purple and gold. Koeneke picked up both wins for Butler on opening weekend one as a starter and one as relief. Koeneke struck out 15 batters in her seven total innings pitched between the two games. She gave up no runs off just one hit while facing 28 batters on the weekend. With the Grizzlies returning no pitchers from last years 51-4 team, Koeneke has brought some early success and a lot to look forward to from the young freshman.

This is the first honor of the season for a Butler softball player on a conference level.
