Hannah Mortimer is entering her third season on the Butler Grizzlies women's basketball coaching staff.

Mortimer helped shape a Grizzly team that went 20-4 in her second season as an assistant and helped the Grizzlies collect their 3rd consecutive Jayhawk East Conference Championship and make their 3rd consecutive appearance at the NJCAA National Tournament.

Mortimer was an integral part of the 2019-20 Grizzlies as they went back-to-back as KJCCC East Champions as well as Region VI Champions during the 2019-20 season. They earned the programs third trip to the NJCAA Div. I Women's Basketball National Tournament but the tournament was canceled in late March due to COVID-19. The Grizzlies got the #15 seed and were slated to play #18 Salt Lake Community College. We will never know the final outcome of the 2019-20 season but the Grizzlies had a year for the books. Butler finished the year 25-8 overall and went 15-5 in the KJCCC East. Freshman Tamara Nard was a 1st Team All-Conference player for the Grizzlies and awarded 'Freshman of the Year' in the KJCCC. She was also named an NJCAA All-American, the fifth player to earn this prestegious award under head coach Mike Helmer. Nard was also voted to the WBCA All-Star Team. Camille Downs was also a First Team All-KJCCC recepient and RaVon Nero picked up Second Team honors. The Grizzlies had four NJCAA All-Academic students and finished with a 3.27 team GPA.

Prior to Butler, Mortimer played two-plus seasons with the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters, becoming the 17th female to join the team in its 90-plus year history. Her small frame, combind with her explosiveness on the court, earned her the nickname "Mighty" with the Trotters.

Mortimer attended Brown Mackie Junior College in Salina, where she was a two-time All-Region XI selection. She led the region in scoring with 16.2 points, along with free throw and three-point percentage. Her game bests were 37 points (school record), eight assists and six steals.

Following Brown Mackie, Mortimer transferred to Wichita State University, where she played two seasons to finish out her collegiate career.

Mortimer lettered all four years in both basketball and softball at Southeast of Saline High School. She was also a two-time high school state champion power lifter during her junior and senior seasons. Mortimer was named All-North Central Activities Association (NCAA) all four years of basketball and softball.

She is a graduate of Wichita State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts & Science degree in Psychology, with an emphasis on Women's Studies and a minor in Sport Management.
