McAlpine named National Player of the Week

For the third time this season, a Grizzly soccer player has earned the prestigious designation of NJCAA National Player of the Week. This week, sophomore forward Kim McAlpine is awarded the honor after leading her team to a KJCCC East title last Saturday night.

McAlpine, a 5-8 sophomore from Scotland, continued her torrid scoring pace for the Grizzlies last week scoring three goals on the week. McAlpine has now recorded at least one goal in every KJCCC match this season. She has scored in 11 consecutive games and now has 19 goals on the season, good for top spot in the KJCCC. McApline's scoring tally has her fifth best of all NJCAA D1 players. This past week, McAlpine was able to net a goal and assist in the Grizzlies' 3-2 victory at Kansas City and then scored a brace in Butler's 8-0 win over Neosho, to finish the week.

This marks the third time a Grizzly has won this award and McAlpine's first time to pick up the honor.
