It will be a battle of the top two teams in the Jayhawk Conference at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex on Saturday night, as the sixth ranked Butler Grizzlies host the 17th ranked Hutchinson Blue Dragons.

Hutch comes in at 9-1 on the year, and currently stands atop the Jayhawk West conference, while the Grizzlies lead the Jayhawk East with an overall record of 9-2-1 with a 6-0-1 conference record. Both teams are undefeated in conference play, with the only dropped points from either side coming from a 1-1 Butler tie against Coffeyville two weeks ago.

The Grizzlies are led by Kenzee Godwin, who leads Butler in goals with 12, also leading the team in points with 23, and Brooklyn Hunter who currently leads the nation in assists, coming in with 12 assists. Hutchinson's only loss this season has been to Johnson County, a 3-1 loss to the Cavaliers. The Blue Dragons are led in goals by sophomore Hadiie Lowe, who has found the net nine times this season, also contributing seven assists and 25 points in 10 games. Sophomore midfielder Julia Dias De Souza leads the Dragons in assists with eight.

The last time these two teams faced off was at BG Products Stadium, as the two teams faced off last year, with the Grizzlies claiming the victory in a rout, 5-0. Hutchison's last win in the series came in the 2021 spring season, as they won a game in Hutchison, 4-2.
