The Butler volleyball team picked up their 20th win of the season and 15th consecutive with a straight set victory on the road over Dodge City Monday night.

The Grizzlies found themselves behind in the first set facing a hefty comeback bid as they trailed 24-20 to the Conqs. The Grizzlies did not waiver scoring five unanswered to take a 25-24 lead. Dodge City scored the next point tying the set back up at 25-25, but a block by Carly Clennan and a kill from Morrow would end the set in the Grizzlies favor 27-25.

Butler had stolen all the momentum from the Conqs at this point and rolled through the next two sets winning 25-21 and 25-17.

Kayli Duncan continued to show why she is a top player in this conference as she had a team high 10 kills, hitting .350 and added four blocks. Jaryn Benning was a force on the outside putting away seven balls in the match and led the team with six blocks. The tandem of Macie Shaver and Rainey Aven combined for 29 assists in the match. Aven also had three kills and two aces in the match.

Kayli Duncan leads the KJCCC West in blocks per set averaging 1.54 and Caitlyn Rexroat leads in total digs at 430 this season. Sydney Morrow, who added two more serving aces last night, leads the conference in aces per set at .55.

The No. 7-ranked Grizzlies remain atop the KJCCC standings at 6-0 with Barton in second with one loss at 5-1. Dodge City falls to 4-4 in KJCCC play sitting in fifth place.

Butler will host Garden City (7-13, 1-4) on Wednesday, September 29 at 6:00pm in the Power Plant in El Dorado.
