Grizzlies stay perfect in KJCCC play with 3-0 win on the road at Pratt Wednesday night

Make it 22-straight for the No. 5-ranked Butler volleyball team as they cruised into Pratt Wednesday night and handled the Beavers in straight sets.

With the win, Butler holds their two and a half game lead over Barton in the conference race sitting at 10-0. They will play the Cougars this Saturday at home for a chance to go three games up with five to play.

Jaryn Benning stared hot in the first set totaling nine of her 14 balls put away in the match. Although Prat was able to score 20 in the first set, the match was never really in question. Butler proved that in the second and third sets dominating the Beavers winning by double digits in both of the final two sets to close them out in three.

Butler has won 66 of their last 70 sets played with their last set dropped coming to Seward back in September. The Grizzlies have won the last six matches in straight sets and 23 of their 25 wins have come on straight sets this season.

Benning finished the night with a team high 14 kills putting away .333 of her attempts. Kayli Duncan posted nine kills and had a team high six blocks in the match. Macie Shaver, defending KJCCC Setter of the Week, had a great outing leading the team in assists (18), digs (14) and service aces (2) on the night.

Butler returns home on Saturday, October 16th for a big KJCCC matchup with second place Barton. If Butler can get a win, they will take a three-game lead in the KJCCC with only five games remaining on the schedule. That match is set to start at 6:00pm.
