Grizzlies finish a perfect 16-0 in conference play winning final two road games

The Butler volleyball team finished regular season play Friday night with a 3-0 win on the road at Garden City, completing their undefeated Jayhawk conference season.

It was another successful road trip for the Grizzlies defeating No. 14-ranked Seward County 3-0 on Thursday night prior to a 3-0 win over Garden City Friday night.

The Grizzlies have been dominant all through conference play, but they put an exclamation on their regular season with two convincing wins this week. Butler defeated Seward in the Greenhouse Thursday (25-18, 25-20, 25-18) giving the Saints their second home loss of the season and the first time the Saints have lost 3-0 in their own gym since November 5th of 2017.

Friday night was smooth sailing as Butler capped off their undefeated conference regular with a straight set victory at Garden City winning 25-15, 25-14, 25-17.

The Grizzlies finish KJCCC play with a final record of 16-0 while dropping just three sets (48/51) to their opponents along the way. Butler is currently ranked No. 3 in the country, riding a 28-game winning streak and are 32-2 overall heading into postseason play.

Butler, who claimed the No. 1 seed in the Region VI Tournament will host No. 8-seeded Pratt on Tuesday, November 2 at 6:00pm at the Power Plant in El Dorado. A win Tuesday will advance the Grizzlies to the Region VI Semifinals which would be played in El Dorado on Friday, November 5 at 5:00pm. Since it is a Region VI tournament event, Butler season passes, and conference passes will not work for admittance into the game.
