Fink and Aven named Jayhawk Players of the Week

Fink and Aven named Jayhawk Players of the Week

Butler's Ivy Fink and Rainey Aven have been voted as this week's Jayhawk Conference Player and Setter of the Week.

After a perfect 5-0 week for Fink, Aven and the Grizzlies, these top sophomores garnered honors after putting up some good numbers in the five wins throughout the week.

Ivy Fink, sophomore outside hitter from Hoyt, KS, was on fire offensively this past week. Fink finished the week with 59 kills in her 19 sets played. She had a season high 20 kills in a four-set victory over Cisco while also recording 26 digs in that match. Fink served up 11 aces on the week to go along with her attacking.

Rainey Aven, sophomore setter from Hereford, TX, was solid as the main setter on the week for Butler as they won five matches throughout the week playing a 5-1 offense. Aven finished the week with 186 assists, an average of 9.94 per set. She also added in 19 kills and 12 service aces in the Grizzlies undefeated week. Aven's 48 assists ties her season high as she had that many in a match in August against Indian Hills.

This is the first KJCCC Player of the Week honors for the Grizzlies this season. Fink won Player of the Week last season as a freshman in Week 10 while this is Aven's first Setter of the week honor.
