Grizzlies sweep Beavers in quick 3-0 win Saturday afternoon

The Grizzlies returned to the Power Plant for the first time in nearly a month when they faced Pratt in El Dorado on Saturday, and they made quick work of the Beavers, sweeping them in straight sets (25-13, 25-11, 25-15.)

McKenna Rhodes led the Grizzlies with 11 kills, and it was another dominating day for Kennedy Kelly, who leads the nation in hitting percentage. Kelly was dominant, with nine kills on 11 attacks for a hitting percentage of .818. The Grizzlies hit .404 as a team, with 46 kills on 94 attempts.

It was an efficient day for the Grizzlies in service, totaling eight aces with only six errors for a percentage good for 92%. Rainey Aven led the way with four of the service aces. Aven also finished with 26 assists, making her total for the season 664 and adds her career total to 1,307, currently fourth all time in Butler history.  Sydney Morrow played the libero position well, finishing with 13 digs. The Grizzlies finished with 43 digs as a team.

The Grizzlies, ranked 20th in the nation, improve to 14-7 with the victory and 8-1 in conference play. It's a trip to Ark City next for Butler as they'll play two games in the Cowley Triangular, facing off against the Tigers, who are currently 19-0 and ranked second in the country in the Division II poll. The Grizzlies will also play Ottawa University JV in the second game of the night on Tuesday.
