Butler Volleyball back inside the NJCAA Top-20

The Grizzlies went 2-1 this week, splitting two conference road matches against ranked opponents, dropping a road game against conference leader Seward but pulling out a huge victory against the Hutchinson Blue Dragons on the road in a battle of ranked teams on Wednesday. Butler finished the week with a sweep of Garden City. The two wins puts Butler back in the Top 20 after receiving votes last week, as they climbed to 19th in the nation after the polls were released on Monday.

The Grizzlies have now faced seven of the 20 teams currently ranked nationally in the newest edition of the rankings, and they've now won five matches against ranked teams this season.

It's a three team race at the top of the Jayhawk Conference this season and those three teams remain in the polls this week. Hutch came from behind and salvaged a victory in the fifth set against Colby on Saturday to help them remain in the rankings despite getting swept by the Grizzlies earlier in the week, as they round out the polls, coming in at 20th. Seward's win against the Grizzlies saw them take first place in the conference and it also saw them climb two spots in the polls to 13th. Seward is now 24-5 and 12-1 in conference play and now has a one game lead on the Grizzlies and the Blue Dragons.

Butler plays their remaining games all at home to round out their regular season, and they will see the Blue Dragons and the Saints again at the Power Plant in two huge matches to round out the season. Next up for the Grizzlies however is a midweek contest against the Barton Cougars.
