Kennedy Kelly Named National Offensive Player of the Week

After a stellar week, sophomore Kennedy Kelly has been named the NJCAA Women's Volleyball National Offensive Player of the Week.

Kennedy Kelly, sophomore middle blocker from Frisco, TX, was dominant yet again, as she helped lead the Grizzlies to a 2-0 week that saw them come from behind to defeat #13 Seward as well a quick 3-0 sweep of the Blue Dragons on Friday night. Kelly had a team high 16 kills in the Grizzlies five-set thriller over Seward, which kept Butler in the hunt for a share of the KJCCC title. Friday night was much of the same for Kelly as she hit .727 putting away eight balls with zero errors in the blistering win over Hutchinson. She also finished the week with nine blocks, seven coming in the Win over #13 Seward. Kelly still holds the top spot in the nation in attack percentage hitting .405% this season.

Along with National honors, Kelly was also named the Jayhawk Conference Offensive Player of the Week, her second straight week to win that award.

Kelly marks the first time this season a Butler Volleyball player has been voted as a national player of the week.
