Butler women’s basketball forward Freddie Wallace and men’s basketball guard Jason ‘Deuce’ Drake have been selected as the Butler Grizzly Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 20 through Nov. 26, presented by White Eagle Credit Union.

Freddie Wallace (Women’s Basketball)

Wallace, a sophomore from Lincoln, Nebraska, helped Butler win its first two KJCCC games of the season, leading the Grizzlies offensively in both games. Wallace posted 19 points on 8-16 shooting to go with four rebounds and four steals in Butler’s road win at Northwest Kansas Tech on Tuesday. The sophomore forward followed that up with an impressive 18 point, seven rebound game in a 47-point win over Seward on Sunday. She knocked down seven of nine free throws in the game. Wallace has scored 10+ in seven of Butler’s eight games.

Deuce Drake (Men’s Basketball)

Drake, a sophomore from Detroit, Michigan, helped Butler to a 2-0 start in KJCCC play. Drake dropped a career-high 21 points at Northwest Kansas Tech. He helped Butler overcome a 12-point second half deficit, ultimately winning 74-72. Drake scored 15 of his 21 points in the second half while also finishing with eight rebounds and six assists. In the win over Seward on Sunday, Drake totaled 11 points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals while also playing solid defense in the win.
