Butler women’s basketball forward Freddie Wallace and men’s basketball guard AJ Williams have been selected as the White Eagle Credit Union Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 27 through Dec. 3, presented by White Eagle Credit Union.

Freddie Wallace (Women’s Basketball)

Wallace, a sophomore from Lincoln, Nebraska, helped Butler move to 10-0 this year with two conference wins last week. It is the second straight week Wallace has won the award. Wallace led #3 Butler in scoring in both games last week as they went 2-0 with wins over #21 Coffeyville and Barton. In the win over #21 Coffeyville, Wallace matched a career-high with 30 points on an impressive 11-17 shooting from the field. She also added four rebounds and two steals. In the win over Barton Saturday, Wallace paced the Grizzlies with 13 points, also adding four rebounds and two steals. On the season Wallace has scored in double figures in nine of 10 games.

AJ Williams (Men’s Basketball)

Williams, a sophomore from Richmond, Virginia, led the way offensively for the Grizzlies last week as they picked up a road win over Coffeyville and narrowly fell to the sixth-ranked Barton Cougars at home. On Wednesday, Williams finished with 15 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists in Butler’s fifth straight win over the Red Ravens. He followed that performance up with 14 points, shooting 3-8 from three, and adding three assists in the loss to sixth ranked Barton. Williams has reached double digits in eight straight games this season.
