Butler track and field distance runner Khloi Bird and baseball infielder Brock Toothaker have been selected as the White Eagle Credit Union Athletes of the Week for the week of April 29th through May 5th.

Khloi Bird (Track & Field)

Bird, a sophomore distance from Topeka, medaled in two separate events at the Region VI Outdoor Championships in Pratt that ran Thursday-Sunday. She won the women’s 10000m with a time of 39:39.72 being named a region champion. She notched a second top-three finish in the women’s 5000m with a time of 18:43.53, solidifying her qualification status for the NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Louisiana Monroe that runs from May 16-18.

Brock Toothaker (Baseball)

Toothaker, a redshirt sophomore from Clearwater, Kan., played a big part in Butler’s doubleheader sweep of Cloud County on Friday. Toothaker was 8-16 (.500) at the plate with three doubles and a triple, scoring five runs on the week in four games started. He helped the Grizzlies lock up fourth place in the KJCCC West while playing first base. In an 11-5 win over the T-Birds Toothaker was 4-5 at the plate with three doubles.
