Butler football defensive lineman Malcolm Alcorn-Crowder and Butler soccer midfielder Ruby Kilden have been selected as Butler Grizzly Athletes of the week for the week of Sept. 11 through Sept. 17, presented by White Eagle Credit Union.

Malcolm Alcorn-Crowder (Football)

Alcorn-Crowder (Whitman, Mass.) finished with two sacks, three tackles for loss, six solo tackles, a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry in Butler football's 26-20 win over Indy. Both of Alcorn-Crowder’s sacks came in crunch time late in the fourth quarter. His first sack saw him force the Indy quarterback to lose the ball ball as a Butler LB caught it and the Grizzlies took over. On Indy's next possession, Alcorn-Crowder hurried the quarterback and forced him to throw the ball up quickly, and Butler DB Patrick Mooney picked it off. Alcorn-Crowder finished off his stellar night with a sack on the Pirates last possession.

Ruby Kilden (Soccer)

Kilden (Harwich, England) sparked the Grizzly offense in their 3-0 victory at Garden City and 4-0 win at Seward this past week. At Garden City, Kilden assisted on the Grizzlies’s second goal of the match. The Seward match saw Kilden score the first two goals of the game, the first from distance and the second a towering header off a Butler corner kick. Kilden now shares the team lead with three goals on the season. Her first goal of the season was a late game equalizer at #4 Seminole State.
