LEADING OFF

The Warriors return home for the first time in nine days to take on the nationally ranked Grizzlies at R.L. Hellyer Field. Originally scheduled for a doubleheader, the weekend series has been extended to a four-game set.

  • The Warriors are 7-1 on their home field this year and are 53-4 at R.L. Hellyer Field over the last three seasons.
  • Eva Fulk continues to power the offense for the Warriors, leading the team in batting average (.447), hits (63), runs (50), and stolen bases (20). Fulk recently became just the eighth player in program history to record 100 career hits and 50 career stolen bases.
  • Sophomore Tatum Aragon, who recently surpassed the 100-hit milestone, owns the second-most doubles in the nation this year with 22 which ranks seventh-most in a single season in school history.
  • Sophomore Jenna Lemley was tapped as this week's ICCAC Athlete of the Week for the Warriors. READ MORE
  • Indian Hills currently ranks in the top-10 in the nation in home attendance and home attendance average.

LAST TIME OUT

The Warriors are coming off a four-game non-conference split with Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL April 13-14. The Warriors dropped the opener 15-7 before taking the next two, 10-5 and 7-2. The Golden Eagles took the finale in a tightly contested 4-3 contest. 

Four different players led the Warriors in hits in each matchup, including Peyton Raley and Jenna Lemley who each tallied three hits for the Warriors. Sophomore Sara Reid secured both wins in the circle for the Warriors.

SERIES HISTORY

The two perennial powerhouse programs have made a habit of competing against one another over the last several seasons.

  • The Warriors are 3-5 all-time vs. the Grizzlies dating back to 2012, but have won two of the last three over the last two seasons.
  • The two teams split a doubleheader in El Dorado, KS back on March 11 with Butler winning the opener 4-2 and the Warriors taking the nightcap 6-3.
  • Indian Hills defeated the Grizzlies 13-8 at last year's NJCAA World Series in Oxford, AL.

SCOUTING THE GRIZZLIES

Butler, ranked No. 11 in the nation, currently sits in first-place in the KJCCC with a 26-2 mark and have won 18 consecutive games.

  • The Grizzlies rank ninth in the nation with a .396 batting average and eighth nationally with a .482 on-base percentage.
  • Led by Kristen Moran's 38 stolen bases, the Grizzlies rank seventh in the country with 157 stolen bases.
  • Six different players are batting over .400 on the year, led by Claire Lopez's .510 mark.
  • Butler will be making their first trip to R.L. Hellyer Field in school history.

The Warriors will hit the road for an Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) doubleheader at Southeastern Community College Monday afternoon. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM from Burlington, IA.
