The Butler Grizzlies picked up their fifth straight victory and their fourth consecutive home win as they dispatched the Seward Saints at the Power Plant with a dominant 68-50 victory.

The Grizzlies led for, almost, the entire game. They only trailed after a technical foul led to a Seward free throw before the tip-off. The Grizzlies gained the lead with a 7-0 run and never looked back, leading by as many as 21 points before cruising to the eighteen point win.

Four of the five starters reached double figures in the victory, led by Treylon Payne's 16 points. Payne was joined by Rob Brown who scored 12 and Isiah Williams and Isaac Ondekane who each finished with 10 points. 

The Grizzlies shot a scorching 51 percent from the field as a team, and they hit six of their three point attempts. Butler finished with 38 points in the paint and 19 points off turnovers, and they also combined for 18 assists, led by Payne, Williams, and Ondekane who each finished with four.

Seward, who came into the game scoring at an average of 77 points per game, were held to just 31 percent as a team. The Saints converted just three of their 18 three pointers and were held to just four assists as a team, as the Grizzlies forced 22 turnovers. Butler won the rebounding battle by the slimmest of margins, finishing with 36 rebounds to the Saints' 35. Payne and Williams finished with seven boards each to lead the Grizzlies.

The victory is the fifteenth of the season for the Grizzlies and the ninth in conference play, as Butler avenged an early season loss against the Saints in Liberal. The Grizzlies will make up a postponed game from earlier in the week as they travel to Colby to face the Trojans on Tuesday, hoping to extend their winning streak to six games.
