Milosevic picks up NJCAA National Offensive Player of the Week award

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Butler volleyball freshman setter Anja Milosevic was named the NJCAA D1 Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday morning, the organization announced.

The national award comes on the heels of Milosevic (Belgrade, Serbia) picking up KJCCC setter of the week honors on Tuesday for a second consecutive week.

Across five matches last week, Milosevic tallied 144 assists which was good for 8.47 assists per set. Milosevic helped Butler to a 2-2 weekend at the Blue Dragon Classic, facilitating the Grizzly attack throughout the entire weekend while also digging up opposing attacks. She posted a double-double vs. 17th ranked Indian Hills with 34 assists and 14 digs. She posted a weekend-high 35 assists and seven digs in a 3-0 sweep of Spartanburg Methodist. All in all, Milosevic had 29+ assists in each match at the tournament in Hutchinson.

She ranks seventh in the conference with 564 assists this season and eighth with 7.94 assists per set.

Milosevic is the fourth Grizzly to earn an NJCAA player of the week award during head coach Lisa Lechtenberg's six-year tenure. Kennedy Kelly won NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week last season on Nov. 4, Kayli Duncan won the NJCAA National Player of the Week award on Sept. 29, 2021, and Carly Clennan was named the NJCAA National Offensive Player of the week on Sept. 22, 2021.

Butler plays at Seward tonight (Wednesday) at 6:30 p.m.
