Grizzlies Secure Mid-Week Win Against Coffeyville

Butler Baseball took down the Coffeyville Red Ravens for the second time this season, this time in a dominant 13-6 victory at home.


The Grizzlies commanded the game, scoring 13 runs on 10 hits, while the Red Ravens managed to score only 6 runs on 8 hits. The game was close in the first few innings, with both teams scoring a run each in the second inning. However, Coffeyville managed to pull ahead by scoring three runs in the third inning. Butler responded with one run in the bottom of the inning, and another in the fourth. In the fifth inning, the Grizzlies broke out with five runs, taking the lead. They continued to score runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings, while shutting out Coffeyville in the final two innings.


The star of the game was Brock Kuehler, who went 3-for-3 with four runs scored and two RBIs. Justin Hudson hit a home run and drove in three runs, while Hayden Dyer hit a home run and drove in two runs. On the mound, the Grizzlies used four pitchers, with Austin Bagnall getting the win after pitching four and one third innings of relief. 


The Grizzlies will now host Dodge City at McDonald Stadium on Thursday in a double-header beginning at 1 p.m. Butler Baseball's record on the season improves to 29-18 while remaining 15-9 in conference.
