Butler's James earns NJCAA, KJCCC weekly honors

Butler sophomore Kate James was recently named the NJCAA and KJCCC Player of the Week for the week ending April 13.

In seven games, James drove in 12 runs and hit .588 (10-for-17) with two doubles and four home runs. James also scored nine runs, walked five times and stole two bases.

James, who has signed with the University of Arkansas next year, now has 11 home runs and 40 RBI on the season while hitting .418.

The NJCAA honor marks the second time this season a Butler player has been named. Freshman pitcher Sydnee Eck was named the Division I Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 2. The KJCCC weekly award is the second time James has received the honor this season.
