Allyson Montgomery earns Jayhawk Conference Pitcher of the Week Honors

After a great performance in the circle last week, Butler Softball's Allyson Montgomery has been named the Jayhawk Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Allyson Montgomery, Butler Softball's sophomore pitcher from Goddard, Kansas had another incredible week in the circle for the Grizzlies in their four conference games this week. Montgomery made three starts in just two days, throwing fifteen innings and giving up only two runs on eight hits with twenty-six strikeouts. Allyson's most outstanding game was against Dodge City in which she threw a complete game giving up no runs on only three hits with no walks and an amazing eighteen strikeouts. This eighteen-strikeout game sets a new program record as Montgomery tied the previous record of seventeen strikeouts earlier this year. Allyson is first in the KJCCC in strikeouts this season with 147 and is second in both wins with fifteen, and ERA at 2.21. The Grizzlies' ace leads the pitching staff in wins (15), total strikeouts (147), innings pitched (98.0), and ERA (2.21).

This is the second time this season Montgomery has earned pitcher of the week titled and she is joined this week with her teammate Ryanna Valdivia as player of the week.
