Butler softball pitcher Cheyenne Handsaker was named the KJCCC Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday for the third time this season.
The sophomore from Pearl City, IL, had a stellar week in the circle, helping the Grizzlies go 4-0 on the week and 2-0 in her starts.
She tossed 12.0 innings of one run softball, striking out 14 and walking just one on the week. In a 12-0 run rule victory at home over Garden City, Handsaker threw 3.0 shutout innings allowing one hit and striking out four. In Butler's 2-1 extra inning win at home over Crowder, Handsaker hurled all 9.0 innings allowing just one run, striking out 10 and walking none.
Her 11 wins and 85.1 innings pitched both lead the KJCCC this season.
