Butler women cruise past Tabor JV, stay unbeaten at home

The Butler women stayed undefeated in the Power Plant with an 80-41 win over Tabor College JV on Saturday.

The Grizzlies led 4-0 early and never trailed. A pair of free throws by Katie Palmer with 7:42 left in the first half gave Butler a 20-point lead for the first time at 28-8. The Grizzlies led 41-15 at the half after a jumper by Brayden Byrd.

The lead pushed past 30 when Kynadi Johnson scored on a layup with 16:36 to go, putting Butler up 53-22.

Ashley Gibson led Butler with 18 points, while Kynadi Johnson had 13 and Jurnee Reid had 11. Elayna Spilker had eight points, all in the first half.

The Grizzlies are now 7-2 overall, including 4-0 at home. Butler will play another home game on Tuesday against Central Nebraska at 5:30 p.m.
