Grizzlies Take Down Colby by 30

EL DORADO, Kan. – No. 25-ranked Butler women's basketball defeated the Colby Trojans 73-43 on Wednesday evening at the Power Plant.

Four Grizzlies (20-6, 16-6 KJCCC) scored in double figures as Butler reached its 20th win of the season. They held Colby (6-19, 2-18) to just 32% shooting from the field. The Grizzlies swept the season series from the Trojans with the win as well as snapping a two-game losing streak.

Freddie Wallace scored 16 to go with nine rebounds and four steals. Randi Harding added 14, shooting 3-6 from deep. Dayuna Colvin had 11 points, four assists and three steals and J'unti Franklin scored 10 off the bench to go with seven rebounds and six assists.

Butler outrebounded the Trojans 47-30 as well as forcing 26 turnovers, coughing it up just 15 times themselves. Colby was held to just 10 points in the paint.

Stella McIntyre paced Colby with 15 points, knocking down five threes. She was the only Trojan in double figures.

Butler returns to action on Saturday at Indy with tipoff set for 2 p.m. CT.
