Butler women improve to 3-0 with win over Clarendon (TX)

CLARENDON, Texas – The Butler women took to the road for the first time in the 2015-2016 season Wednesday and came away with an 86-60 win over the Clarendon College (TX) Bulldogs (1-2).

The Grizzlies led by four after the first quarter but that would be as close as the game would get. Courtesy of a 31-point second quarter, the Grizzlies took a 17-point lead into the half (48-31). The 31 points in the second quarter mark the second time this season the Grizzlies have eclipsed the 30-point mark in an individual quarter with the other occasion being against Bethany College JV on October 30th.

Butler had four players score in double figures as Tamara Lee led the way with 15 points. Kyeria Hannah and Nakylia Carter scored 12 points each, while Nia Roberts added 11 points. Freshman Raven Prince and sophomore Janee Arnold paced the Grizzlies on the glass each finishing with career highs of 11 rebounds each.

Butler (3-0) has dominated opponents through three games this season winning by an average margin of 40.7 points per game including a 33-point victory over #13 State Fair Community College. In addition, the Grizzlies have won 11 out of 12 quarters this season by an average of 10.2 points since switching to the four quarter format that is a new change to this year's women's game.

The Grizzlies take to the court next on Tuesday evening Nov. 10 at home against Otero Junior College (Colo.). Tip time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
