For the second time in the last three weeks, the Butler Grizzlies find their way into making the NJCAA Top Plays, this time with Camille Downs.

With 3.2 seconds left in a tied ball game on Saturday, Camille Downs of the Butler women's basketball team caught the inbounds pass, put her head down and drove to the basket beating her defender and making a layup to win the game over Coffeyville at the buzzer. The game was tied up at 59-59 when Downs made the basket giving the Grizzlies a 61-59 victory.

Camille Downs, the 5-9 sophomore guard from Fredricksburg, VA, finished the game with 15 points lifting the Grizzlies into sole possession of first place in the KJCCC East. She also recorded six rebounds and three steals in the contest.

"It was a great play," said head coach Mike Helmer. "More importantly to me they ran the play perfect. I set it to Zayda and I thought that is what they would do (put a defender on the ball) and told them if they put a defender on the ball this will be the play. Zayda made the pass, Camille made the play. Super happy for all of them involved."

Downs has played in 23 games this season and averages 11.7 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game and 2.8 assists.

This is the second time Butler has made the NJCAA Top Plays this semester.
