Baseball Puts Up 28 Runs against Grizzlies

The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team took down the Butler Community College Grizzlies with an outstanding score of 28-16 April 1 in El Dorado, Kan. The KCKCC Blue Devil baseball team has not put up that many runs since March 27, 2018 when they took down MCC with a score of 30-4.

Braden Horn had a team-high seven RBIs while going 2-3 from the plate as he hit a double and home run. Frankie Santiago had his fourth career multi-home run game for the Blue Devils as he went 3-5 from the plate, hit two home runs and a double while bringing in four RBIs and scoring five times. Both Ian Woita and Cade Parry recorded five hits, and they combined for eight RBIs, nine runs and two walks. Parry had his second home run on the season. Spenser Smock had a triple and a double as he went 4-5 from the plate along with three RBI, five runs and got walked twice. Tanner Pachorek had four hits, one of those being a double, scored three runs and had two RBI. As a team, they had 46 at-bats, 27 hits, eight walks, four home runs, four doubles and one triple.

There were seven pitchers who threw for KCKCC, and Dylan Blazer was the pitcher who recorded the "W". Tanner Warner was the starting pitcher and threw for the first two innings of the game. He allowed one run in, three hits and struck out two. Weston Fries threw for .2 innings allowing five runs from five hits. Blazer came in, finished the third inning, threw in the fourth inning and allowed just one hit. Jake Titus threw in the fifth and sixth inning and let up two runs and three hits. He also struck out three batters. Avery Oravetz recorded one out while letting in four runs, two earned, two hits and one walk. Jose Toledano let in two runs from one hit without recording an out. Carter Beach threw for the final 1.2 innings while letting up two runs, two hits with one walk and one strikeout.

The next series for the Blue Devils is against the Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. April 3 at the Coffeyville baseball field.
