Kayli Duncan named NJCAA National Player of the Week

Kayli Duncan and the Butler volleyball team is on a roll. The Grizzlies have won 16-straight matches, not having lost in the month of September and Duncan has played a huge part in the success of this team. On top of that, the Grizzlies have now had the NJCAA National Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks, a feat that has never been accomplished in program history.

Duncan, a 6-1 sophomore middle blocker from Wichita, KS, was named NJCAA Div. I Volleyball National Player of the Week after her dominant week on the court.

Duncan continued her consistent and dominant play this past week as she helped Butler extend their winning streak to 15-straight matches with wins over Cloud and No. 10-ranked Seward. Duncan hit .586 on the week totaling 21 kills in her eight sets played. She had eight kills and no errors on the road Wednesday with seven blocks and followed that up with a 13-kill, six block performance against the highly ranked Saints of Seward on Saturday in the Grizzlies five-set win. Duncan is hitting .315 on the season and .500 in KJCCC matches. Duncan hit above her average in kills per set this week finishing at 2.63 kills per set.

Duncan leads the KJCCC in blocks per set this season with 1.54 and is fourth in hitting percentage at .315. Duncan is first in the entire NCJAA in block assists with 102 and she is second in total blocks at 109 this year.

This marks the second straight week and second time this season a Butler volleyball player has been awarded NJCAA National Player of the Week. Carly Clennan week 4 and now Duncan in week 5.
