Having not lost a match since late August, the Butler volleyball team has continued to show why they deserve a spot atop the national standings. This week, they get to move up another spot to No. 4 in the weekly NJCAA Div. I Volleyball National Poll.
"This team just continues to be consistent in all aspects of the game and play good volleyball," said head coach Lisa Lechtenberg. "They don't get too high or too low during a match and that has really helped them play more consistent and play our game this season.
The Grizzlies are riding a 23-game winning streak and have won those gave in very convincing fashion. During this win streak, Butler has won 69 of their last 73 sets played and they have not dropped a set in the last eight matches. Their 23-wins in a row is currently second behind No. 2 Blinn who is riding a 30-game streak. Blinn was one of the Grizzlies only two losses this season. the other loss came to No. 9 Utah State Eastern in the first match of the year.
Butler is three games ahead in conference play with five left on the regular season schedule. They travel to Colby today, Monday, October 18 to play the Trojans at 6:00pm in Colby, KS.
