For the first time since the opening of BG Products Veterans Sports Complex in 2012, the complex is getting a facelift as new field turf and a new track surface are currently being installed at the 6,000 seat complex
EL DORADO, Kan. – For the first time since the opening of BG Products Veterans Sports Complex in 2012, the complex is getting a facelift as new field turf and a new track surface are currently being installed at the 6,000 seat complex.
Butler soccer and football will have brand new turf to play on ahead of their 2024 seasons while track and field will have a new surface to run on as they prepare for their spring 2025 season.
Mammoth Sports Construction is the contractor and are currently working to meet the August deadline for the facility to be ready for fall sports.
From the city of El Dorado: "The City of El Dorado is providing the initial cash financing for the project and once the project is completed the city will be reimbursed partly by the Butler Community College Foundation. The remaining amount will be bonded in general obligation bonds that will be issued in the spring of 2025. Once that is done the stadium part of the bonds will be paid for by donations and sponsorships that will be received over the next 10 years."
