Butler Athletics Sees 8 Programs, 72 Student-Athletes Earn Academic Recognition from the NJCAA

The NJCAA office released its All-Academic teams Thursday morning and 72 Grizzly student-athletes earned honors while eight of Butler's 11 programs earned the NJCAA Academic team award.

Butler had 27 student-athletes earn NJCAA All-Academic first team honors (4.00 GPA), 13 pick up NJCAA All-Academic second team honors (3.80-3.99 GPA) and 32 receive NJCAA All-Academic third team honors (3.60-3.79 GPA).

Baseball led the way with 18 student-athletes being named to one of the three teams. Soccer (16) and softball (10) rounded out the top three programs with student-athlete award winners. Soccer also led the way with 10 being All-Academic first team (4.0 GPA).

Soccer held the highest team GPA (3.40). Eight Grizzly athletic programs earned the 2023-24 NJCAA Academic Team Award which is awarded to teams with a 3.00 GPA or higher. The Grizzly squads to pick up this honor included soccer (3.40), softball (3.35), baseball (3.33), men's cross country (3.18), women's cross country (3.16), volleyball (3.15), women's track and field (3.12) and women's basketball (3.07).
